Another beautiful Saturday morning at Townville In the Heavy Woollen League. What a day for cricket, sun was out and the lads were awesome!
Carlton batted first and all the lads did themselves proud, especially Rory who was playing his first ever game. Joe and William started off with 29 runs which included 3 boundaries! Elliot & Ben followed this with an impressive 30 runs. All this was backed up by Luca, Rory, Thomas and Noah scoring 50 between them. Top effort!
A big thanks to the Townville coaching staff who were very welcoming both teams were encouraged by both sides!
All 8 players were a joy to watch fielding. 7 wickets were taken overall but a special mention to Elliot Evans who took 3 wickets from 2 overs.
Townsville even put on biscuits and juice at half time which we thought was a real nice personal touch.
Carlton ended the innings with 394 and Townsville managed 360, finishing with another victory for a young developing Carlton side!
A special mention to Harry Gibbs who plays in the under 11’s who scored for the first time
Overall another great game and a joy to see these players develop and I really believe Carlton are in safe hands with these young players coming through!!
