Thomas one of our youngest stars was the captain today. He chose to field first.
Our first four bowlers Henry, Marcus, Joe and Ben kept Colton to 1 for 1 after 4 overs with some outstanding bowling from all four. Henry picked up a wicket Maiden which is where the batters score zero runs and wicket is taken.
The next 4 bowlers stuck to the game plan and improved the wicket count taking 3 more wickets for 9 runs in those 4 overs. Elliot, Arthur, Luca and Thomas bowled really well with Luca taking two of those wickets and Arthur one.
Louis and Maxwell finished off the first round of bowling with excellent pace only conceding 5 runs for one wicket which Maxwell took with a great catch from little Elliot!!
The second round of bowling was just as impressive with Arthur taking another 2 wickets.
Carlton batted 2nd and Joe and Marcus again got us off to a great start scoring an impressive 28 for just one wicket.
Henry and Maxwell who communicated between the wicket very well knocking 39 runs between them with only 2 wickets! 16 of those runs coming off their first over… wow
Love watching Elliot and Ben bat together. They are best friends off the field and it shows with the constant talking and running and encouragement for each other throughout. These two are going to be ones to watch in the future.
It’s really difficult to go through a batting partnership of 24 balls and not get out. Thomas and Luca managed this. They batted extremely well knocking up 25 runs between them! Luca is one of the most stand out and improved players at the moment in a very high standard side!!
Louis and Arthur came in and knocked 22 runs for 2 wickets which was a really good end to the game and made sure we took the victory.
An overall great game a joy to umpire and watch.
