Well this ended up been another wet one but the kids put a great effort in today despite the rain! This was our first Leeds & Wetherby league game this season and first time for some of the kids playing in a match!
Carlton opted to field first and manged to only get one wicket but bowled and fielded well to keep New Rover to a score of 248!
The team were excellent when it was Carltons turn to bat. Joe and Marcus managed to achieve 45 runs in the first 4 overs with the rest of team backing this up well. Great communication throughout which really helped with the runs total!
Unfortunately with 3 over to go we had to put a stop to the game due to pitch conditions and to ensure the safety on the kids. At this point Carton were 285 which they should all be very proud of!
It was a great game played in good spirits by both teams! It was great to see some first timer cricketers out there!
On to our next one which will be on Tuesday evening against Great Preston at home.
