Hassan Butt's magnificent century laid the foundation for a competitive total of 225 for 6 from 50 overs in a disciplined batting display.

After losing the toss, the innings began steadily with Callum Oliver and Hassan Butt carefully negotiating some accurate new-ball bowling. Oliver provided solid support, making 27 from 55 deliveries before edging James Glynn to Faz Alam, ending an opening partnership of 82 in the 21st over.

Butt then combined with Nicholas Lindley to take control of the innings. The pair added 96 valuable runs for the second wicket, rotating the strike effectively while punishing anything loose. Lindley contributed an assured 41 from 64 balls, striking five boundaries before being run out by Syed Aqib Shah with the score on 178 in the 43rd over.

With the platform set, Butt reached a well-deserved century from 149 deliveries, an innings featuring 14 fours and two sixes. His knock combined patience with authority and provided the backbone of the total. However, the closing stages saw the bowling side mount an impressive fightback. Mohammed Zeeshan was bowled by Naveed Malik for 1 before Butt departed for 106, caught by Kevin McDermott off the bowling of Farukh Alam. Alam then struck twice more in quick succession, dismissing Tom Marshall for a duck and claiming Matthew Duce with a return catch, reducing the batting side from 178 for 2 to 189 for 6.

The innings was somewhat rescued by an enterprising unbeaten stand between Duncan Heath and Mohammed Ibrahim Ahmed. Heath struck 17 not out from just 11 balls, including a six, while Ibrahim Ahmed added an unbeaten 20 from 16 deliveries, ensuring the side finished strongly with an unbroken 36-run partnership to post 225 for 6 from their allotted overs.

Faz Alam was the pick of the bowlers, returning outstanding figures of 3 for 43 from his 12 overs, while James Glynn and Naveed Malik each claimed a wicket. Despite the late burst of wickets, the batting side's disciplined approach throughout the innings, anchored by Hassan Butt's excellent century, ensured they posted a challenging target.

In reply Kevin McDermott produced a match-winning unbeaten century as his side chased down a target of 226 with remarkable ease, reaching 226 for 1 in just 39 overs.

The reply began positively before Tom Marshall provided the breakthrough for the bowling side, having James Van Der Merwe caught by Raman Athwal for 15 after 10.4 overs with the score on 62. Despite the early wicket, it proved to be the only success of the innings.

McDermott took control of the chase with a superb unbeaten 117 from 111 deliveries. Mixing patience with controlled aggression, he struck 19 boundaries and a six, scoring at a strike rate of over 105. He found an equally capable partner in Dan White, who compiled an excellent unbeaten 75 from 89 balls, including 12 fours. The pair shared an unbroken partnership of 164 runs for the second wicket, steadily eroding the required total before accelerating as victory came into sight. Their excellent running between the wickets and consistent boundary scoring ensured there was never any sustained pressure during the chase.

Tom Marshall was the only wicket-taker, finishing with figures of 1 for 19 from four overs, while Duncan Heath and Raman Athwal were the most economical of the remaining bowlers, each conceding just four runs per over. However, the attack was unable to make further inroads as McDermott and White remained in complete control throughout.

The successful chase was completed in just 39 overs, giving the batting side a comprehensive nine-wicket victory. McDermott's outstanding unbeaten century deservedly took centre stage, well supported by White's composed 75 not out in a dominant second-wicket partnership that left the bowlers with no route back into the contest. Carlton picked up 18 points from this victory while Pudsey Congs picked up just the 3.

Off the back of this win Carlton jump out of the relegation zone and into 9th place, 11 points clear of the dreaded relegation zone and just 19 points off 7th place.
