After a miserable weekend with many matches cancelled we managed to get back out there tonight!
This evenings game was against Barwick away. To ensure we played as many juniors as possible we sent a team of 10 compared to our normal 8 which meant we played an extra 4 overs per team.
Like our previous 2 league games we opted to field first. There was some excellent bowling on show with Maxwell, Joe, Holly and Luca getting a wicket each whilst Henry and Louis got two each. A special mention to our youngest member Harry on getting his first wicket also!
After some excellent fielding we manged to keep Barwick to 198 runs.
Like our last 2 games Joe and Marcus started the batting session off with an impressive 33 runs between them. Arthur and Louis followed this with another 29 runs which included 3 great boundaries! A very special mention to Holly and Izzy who played in the team for the first time. Some excellent communication throughout and hit some very impressive shots! Well done girls!
Henry and Maxwell kept a clean sheet with no wickets given and scored 29 runs! Harry and Luca finished off very well with some great team work to leave the score at 302 and the win for Carlton.
Great to see juniors on both sides play the game in good spirits. Both team coaches appreciated the opportunity to get them back out there playing and for some the first time playing. Special thanks to Barwick for hosting us.
Our next league game will be Sunday at home.
