Ava Redfearn captained our team this Saturday which was away against Adwalton for the first time this season!
Alwalton won the the toss and decided to field first. Noah and Ethan started our innings scoring 7 runs between them whilst also keeping a clean sheet on the wicket front. Rory and Oscar followed up with 6 runs but unfortunately lost 3 wickets to some excellent bowling from Adwalton which most would have struggled against. Ava and Holly continued to play some excellent cricket scoring 11 runs. Communication between the pair was something to be very proud of and was nice to see them leading by example. William and Harry finished off with 9 runs and gave one wicket but showed some excellent defensive work against some further great bowling from Adwalton. Overall a good innings for a developing team against some excellent opposition.
When it come to Carltons turn to field all the team had to work hard against some very good batting. Before the game we spoke about the importance of trying to take an extra second to have a look up and decide who to throw the ball to before commiting. It was great to see some of this in practice from all the team. A special mention to Noah who got a wicket Maiden in his first over and took 2 wickets in his second. He even managed to loose a trainer in the car park sliding for a ball. 😳😂
Adwalton were and excellent team and Carton will take a lot from it which we will continue to work on in training.
