 "Following various issues with the conduct of Wakefield City CC, the chairman (Chris Madden) spoke with members of the WC committee. They indicated that a meeting had been arranged with the players to discuss the problems that the club was having. Following the meeting, Wakefield City CC resigned their membership of the CYCL with immediate effect.The management committee then discussed the implication of the resignation with respect to outstanding fixtures. As there are only 2 fixtures to the mid-point of the season, it was agreed that the teams that had not played WC would be awarded 6 points as per rules (failure to fulfil fixture). No points would be awarded in the games scheduled for the 2nd half of the season. It was agreed that all players registered to WC (with the exception of their overseas player) would become free agents with immediate effect and transfer forms would not be required." |
