U13 Match Report Added

The Match Report for the last U13 league game V Wakefield Thornes on 10 August has been added to the site here.

j0409103.jpgThe website has been up and running now since the first day of the 2007 season and the first year has been about understanding the potential and providing the basics of a site.

I have updated the site for the 2008 season but I know we can do more and make it even more useful for everyone linked to the Club.  I have also added some content which now requires registration such as a Forum, Messageboard and Personal Messaging System to try and build up a bit of an online community.

In order to make sure the information is interesting and useful I need your help!

  1. What information would you like to see on the website that we don't have already?
  2. What parts of the site do you like and use now?
  3. Do you know of other cricket related websites that do things differently and better than we do?
  4. Are there parts of the site that you would like to function differently to make them easier to use?

I'm interested to know any comments you have about what we have done so far, good or bad, so that we can build something that will deliver benefits for everyone.  Please select Add your comment below and let me know what you think.

:grin Thanks Anon. I agree with your comments on the CYCL website. I have previously offered to update their site free of charge in my spare time and received absolutely no response from anyone at the league. I think they're hanging their hat on the league merger and getting whoever maintains the LWRCL website to run the new league site but whether that will happen before 2009, who knows.

Thanks Mark for your kind comments and it's good to know that the hard work is appreciated even by people outside the club. If you want to know how any parts of the site were created just drop me a mail at admin@carltoncricketclub.co.uk . It's mainly through the magic of Joomla and the very active user community who provide support and one of the players who gave me a great start. The site is still under construction so keep coming back to see how it evolves. It's not bad for someone who didn't know anything about website development 12 months ago and still knows nothing about cricket! :zzz
