Calling all the players who are going to represent Carlton CC during 2010’s season Gentleman Jonathan Andrews here. With the season just under 7 weeks away are you going to be ready physically? I know I’ve never been for over a decade of pre seasons, but recently I have been working with a trainer through winter on a personal level to help me lose weight and get fit. His name is Neil Ross a personal trainer and professional footballer currently playing for Halifax Town.
Following some enquiries and discussion with several players it has been decided to offer the opportunity to get ourselves in shape to compete from the very start of the season! Starting on Sunday 7th March at 11:15 will be 1 hour sessions at the ground running for the next 4 weekends. They will be taken by Neil (aka Rossi) and the cost is £20 for the four weeks. It is a tailor made programme for the game of cricket covering all aspects required to play the game and for all levels of fitness. Gents it’s a chance to do it right and get a bit of team spirit going too before game 1..so I would ask you all to come and give it a try. It’s at a time and on a day that we felt all could make without too much disruption.
His help has been invaluable to me and Rossi would be willing to help advise on exercise outside of the 4 week sessions and also diet and nutrition information, all included in the cost. Its excellent value and I think a reasonable price. I know some players have been reticent and I see their points but some players think it’s a good idea too. All professional sports teams pre-season train gents! it’s not just about netting. So how serious are we about our cricket this year? I hope enough to at least try, its four weeks lads..come on! 2nd XI captain Darren Read is insisting all 2nd XI players attend! A little healthy competition with the 1st XI would be interesting!! Also it is open to anyone who wants to come along and get fit ! So will you be there? I hope so!
Neil Ross as I said currently plays at Halifax Town and is a former Leeds Utd apprentice and player during Eddie Grays reign. Stockport and Bristol are former clubs plus a spell in Japan! The link below shows a few goals.
