01 January 2011
The 2010 senior season introduced the concept of laptop scoring for the first time supporting the wishes of the Central Yorkshire League. It didn't come without it's challenges but on the whole it was a successful first year and brought with it some detailed statistics at the year end and simplified the results process for the league. To build on the use of new technology and to bring the club right up to date the Management Committee have approved progress towards the replacement of the existing scoreboard at the Club with a state of the art Electronic Scoreboard. The scoreboard will link to the Total Cricket Scorer laptop scoring software currently used but can also be used standalone, for junior games for example. The new scoreboard will just replace the existing scoreboard fascia but we are also investigating the possibility of screens displaying the current score during the game in other positions around the clubhouse to benefit players and supporters. Negotiations have started with the suppliers and we expect the new scoreboard to be in place for the start of the 2011 season.
