Junior CricketThe Club will shortly be going out into our local community in search of new players for the Under 9 and Under 11 junior teams at Carlton. We will be distributing this flyer and covering letter detailing how players and parents can get involved and promoting the many positive benefits of playing junior cricket at Carlton.  If you work or live in the area and would like to help encourage even more young people to join in and have fun in the friendly and safe environment that the Club has to offer then why not print off the flyer and letter and share them with your friends, neighbours and work colleagues.

Safe Hands CoverThe Club has published a new Child Welfare Policy today as part of its commitment to ensuring that we provide a safe, friendly and enjoyable experience for children.  The policy has been based around the guidelines provided by the ECB in their recent publication "Safe Hands – Cricket’s Policy for Safeguarding Children".  Our new policy includes guidance notes for Parents/Carers, Coaches, Managers and the junior cricketers themselves.  It also highlights the role of Andrew Rudge, our Child Welfare Officer.  We would be grateful if everyone linked to the Club could familiarise themselves with the new policy so that everyone knows what is expected of them.

henryiv.gifIt is with great sadness that we announce the death of our Club President Mr J K (Ken) Oldroyd on 7th October 2007 aged 82 years.

During his many years as a player, Chairman, and latterly as President, his contribution to the Club has been immense.

He will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by his committee colleagues, players and members of Carlton Cricket Club who take this opportunity to express their condolences to his widow Beryl and all of his loving family.

As a mark of respect, the Club's Annual Dinner & Presentation Evening, (due to have been held at Hatfeild Hall on Saturday 13 October) has been cancelled.

Ken's funeral will take place at 1:45pm on Monday 15th October at Lofthouse Parish Church followed by burial at Lofthouse Cemetry.  Family flowers only.
