Scoreboard

Those who attended the friendly game against South Kirby in the fantastic sunshine of last Saturday will hopefully have noticed our new scoreboard is now complete. A few teething problems meant it took a while to get going but hopefully these have now been ironed out before the season starts this weekend. It looked clear even in the bright sunshine last weekend so it should help to keep everyone up to date during the games. It's also now much easier for the scorer as they don't have to update the tins. The scorer now updates the laptop which automatically updates the scoreboard. If anyone is interested in getting involved in scoring and earning £18 each game please let us know as we are short on scorers for the senior teams this year. We are still working on repeating the scoreboard inside the clubhouse and this should be available shortly.

Just a reminder that the senior team selections will be posted on the forum weekly on a Wednesday following the selection meetings. This weeks teams have been posted here. The 2nd XI are at home this weekend against East Ardsley and the 1st XI are away to the same club. The 1st XI will include our 2 new signings this season, Murphy Walwyn (Pictured) and Makbul Mullah and the returning Liam Morris will also be featuring. Good luck to both teams for the coming season!.

Thank you to everyone who turned up to help with preparing the ground on 2nd April. It was greatly appreciated and hopefully wasn't too much like hard work. The bacon sandwiches were great and special thanks to Jonny Andrews for the provision of his advanced supervisory skills!

Well the season is nearly upon us and it's that time of year again when the ground preparation 'fairies' appear at Carlton CC and prepare the clubhouse and the ground for the start of the new season. Well that's what normally happens at Carlton, when a small number of dedicated volunteers get everything ready for the players to turn turn up on the first day of the season to a beautifully prepared wicket, spotless changing rooms and neatly trimmed hedges etc. This year it's a bit different though as our willing band of volunteers need your help! On Saturday 2nd April 2011 from 10am we are opening the club and need the senior and junior players, supporters and your family and friends to join us to prepare the ground and the clubhouse for the new season. Refreshments and Bacon sandwiches will be available and the bar will open from lunchtime. No special tools required, just willing and able volunteers to clear rubbish, cut grass, clean changing rooms etc. All these jobs generally go unnoticed but they all need doing. Please come and join us!
