Townville A won an incredibly exciting 2010 Wheatley Cup Final today on the last ball. Townville batted first scoring 204-10 in their innings with Ossett A coming up just short on 203-9. Images can be found in the gallery here. Please do not re-use/re-distribute these images without permission.

Thanks to everyone who came along and helped make today a very special day at the Club. Particular thanks to those who helped in any way and to those who took part in the matches, including the juniors who kicked off the day. Hopefully all the hard work that went on behind the scenes by the Police and at the club will help in some way to support the excellent work carried out by the Help For Heroes charity.

On Sunday 25 July Carlton will host a Charity Cricket Match between the Cast of Emmerdale and the West Yorkshire Police. The game has been organised by the Rothwell Neighbourhood Police Team and will raise funds for the Help for Heroes charity. The event will begin with a junior game at 10:30am with the main game starting around 12:30pm. There is a £2 admission charge to watch the game and a nominal charge for car parking on the football field. You shouldn't need your cool box as there will be plenty of on-site catering including a Barbeque, sandwiches, cakes, ice creams etc. throughout the day. Please come along and help raise funds for this very deserving cause.
