2008 Season

We would like to take this opportunity of wishing all players and parents a happy and successful New Year and hope you are looking forward to the coming season.

We plan to run teams in all age groups of the Heavy Woollen Junior Cricket League in 2008 and, hopefully, a second U.13 team in the Leeds Junior League.

Team coaches will be:

Under 9 - Mark Schofield
Under 11 - Malcolm Wallis - Roy Sampson
Under 13 - Paul Stanyard
Under 15 - Mark Schofield
Under 17 - Keith Sampson
Multi - age girls - Jill Schofield Winter Coaching

Winter coaching courses commence on Thursday 10th January at Brigshaw School (6.30 - 8.30) and this year we plan to divide the allocated time into 2 separate one-hour sessions.

The cost will be ₤1 per session and Gary Pagett has kindly agreed to organise the collection of the weekly fee.

The coaching programme for the first six weeks will be as outlined below.

6:30 - 7:30	Under 9 - 11 - 13	Group coaching working primarily on technique and general skills of the game with some time possibly being allocated to nets for the more advanced players.
7:30 - 8:30	Under 13 - 15 - 17	Net sessions

   Please could you cooperate by wearing clean training shoes when you come into the sports hall.

Subscriptions 2008

Last season the method of collecting nominal subscriptions after every outdoor coaching session had many logistical problems and was not particularly successful. In addition the statutory club membership subscription for adults was, for the most part, overlooked.

Subscriptions for the coming year will be levied at ₤25 per family and will include club membership for parents, their children and all coaching sessions throughout the season. This technically takes effect from January 1st.

We feel that this is very much in line with other local junior sporting organisations and will eliminate the problems for everyone in terms of the collection and payment of membership/coaching fees.
