Winter Coaching
Winter coaching comes to a close at Easter – Tuesday 31st March being the final session at Brigshaw, with the nets at Rodillian ending on Thursday April 2nd. As coaches we feel that the evenings have been very enjoyable and productive for all concerned. There has been a noticeable improvement in the skill level of our young cricketers and we feel confident that this can be further developed during the coming season.
2009 Season
The first game is on Sun 26th April (U.13), with games on Mon 27th (U.15), Wed 29th (U17) and Thurs 30th (U11).
This season we are producing a brochure which will include fixture lists and other features. It will be available prior to the commencement of the season upon payment of subscriptions.
The full fixture list can also be found on the club website under the Junior Cricket menu option.
Match Days
Sun - Under 13, Under 9
Sun - Under 15 (Leeds League)
Mon - Under 15 (Heavy Woollen)
Wed - Under 17
Thur - Under 11
There are no set days for girls team fixtures
Practice nights for Under 9’s, Under11’s, Under13’s and Girls will be Fridays commencing 6.30pm with the first session on Friday 17th April.
Players in Under 17 and Under 15 teams will be informed weekly regarding the days of their practice sessions – these will vary and will be fitted in when the younger teams are playing away.
Subscriptions
The subscription for 2009 will be £25 per family and is due at the commencement of the season. This will include all coaching and practice and, for parents, associate membership of the club. Please pay promptly. Having to ask individuals personally as the season progresses can prove a little embarrassing.
Team Shirts
Please don’t buy a new cricket shirt for the coming season.
The club has agreed to provide team shirts for all junior players at a subsidised cost of £10. For players who have attended winter nets and paid the nominal £10 fee the shirts will be complementary.
Website
It is hoped to post results and match reports of the season’s junior matches as well as action photographs from games. I would be pleased to hear from any parent who has reservations about publishing photographs of their children on the site.
Hoping for a most enjoyable and successful season.
Paul Stanyard
Club Chairman and Junior Secretary (on behalf of the junior coaches)
